Neck Strat pickup in a Tele?

    Considering that the scale length and the wood combo are the same, would a Strat neck pickup sound basically the same if you put it in a Tele?

    Or would there be any significant tonal difference due to the different bridge?

    The strats wammy spring setup provides a bit of extra dimension to the tone that the tele doesnt have. Therefore, nothing sounds like a strat- however, my nocaster has a strat tuned neck pickup and it does sound strat ISH, so their is a difference, its more raw and has more attack- just like a tele should. Strat trem units are like onboard reverb units set to 1.

    buy both a strat and tele, then a hardtail strat- keep it simple
