I was just given a black gibson les paul with no pickups.....and no other hardware

i was thikning of putting a bigsby on it.
but i was wondering, what would be some good pickups that would portray the neil youngish sound. Really heavy, really loud and sensitive. p90s would be great for this, but they just wont fit. Also, does the firebird neck pickup, can that be fit into a humbucker route??

    thanks

Duncan makes humbucker-sized P90s (Fat Cats) that are a drop-in fit.

I think a Firebird pickup should fit a normal humbucker rout, but you'll need a custom mounting ring. I would think that any fairly bright-sounding normal humbucker would get you close enough though - I'd try something unpotted if you want that more chaotic Neil Young-type sound - a Seth Lover or an Antiquity if you want to stick with Duncans.

i was thinking of putting the seymour duncan phat cat in the neck position
and the antiquity humbuckers in the bridge

will that sound any good...or should i switch them...or should i just get 2 antiquity humbuckers

    thanks
