torn between a jet city 2x12 and the egnater 1x12

    egnater

    http://www.amazon.com/Egnater-Tweak...al-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1329199698&sr=1-29

    jet city

    http://www.amazon.com/Jet-City-Ampl...cal-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1329200696&sr=1-3

the jet city is cheaper, closed back, and has 2 speakers (eminence?)

the egnater is a little more expensive, only 1 speaker and it's partially open back, but it's got a Celestion G12H-30, which i imagine is better than the eminence.

I'm also assuming it's closer to the V30, which is my speaker of choice

I play primarily metal, and will be using one of these for a mesa rectoverb

    any input is greatly appreciated

Neither. The Recto's don't sound good with G12H or G12M speakers and they are not like V30's at all. I'd get a closed back cab with two V30's, or possibly a single EVM12L, or Eminence Delta Pro12a in it. My favorite is the Rectifier 2x12 cabinet with Recto's. The Mesa 3/4 closed back cab will do the job too if you can find one at a good price.

you can get a used mesa 112 for around the same price as your egnater link .
would be a good choice for a "keeper" ??

of the 2 you posted , i'd say the egnater ... easier to sell when its temporary stay is over , or you could spend and get a tweaker to go with it as a second rig ...

I'd take one quality speaker over two cheaper ones, but the Egnater is only rated 30 watts, which may not be enough for your Mesa.

What part of Florida are you in? I have a nice 2 x 12 for sale in the Tampa area.

It's a 2 x 12 custom made by SourMash cabinets to match an Egnater head, so it has the Egnater color scheme. Speakers are diagonally mounted and the top is slanted so it's shaped like a smaller Marshall A style cabinet. Speakers are two 16 ohm WGS Reaper HP.

I paid $400. It has a few scuffs, but overall still in great shape. I'd like to get $275 or so, but I'm open to offers.

Hmm, I'm interested but am leaving for Germany (for two weeks) w/ the USAF. I get back on the 3rd. I'll pm you before we fly home to see if it's still available. If it is I'd definitely like to make a deal with you

Sounds good. It's for sale, but I'm not in a big hurry and I haven't advertised it anywhere yet.

If it's temporary, why not get a cheap empty and a used speaker that will be good in the perma-cab?
