Need help dating a Fender Strat

    I have a strat I got from our bassist in a trade. The serial number on the neck is form 1984. However I learned Fender used these serial numbers on the first American Standards. My guitar has a swimming pool route and American Standard bridge saddles, so I was told it can't be an 84. No date on the neck heel or in the cavity, however. Color is kind of a greenish/grayish/teal, with a sparkle to the finish.

    Anyone have any idea how I find out what year it is?

    Its 86-87. They used the 4 serial #s the first couple years of the American Stds.

    Thanks. It's one of the nicest strats I have played, just didn't know the year.
