Hey, I have band rehearsal today at 4:30 I am traveling about an hour away first. My car will be in a parking garage for 5 hours first before leaving to practice and its a high of 41 today. Question is, is this safe for my gear to be in the cold that long? I have my strat in a hardshell case and pedals in the PT-1 hardshell case. Should I wrap a few blankets around them?

Hard shell cases should be fine (the pedals really won't notice the cold) but I usually put a blanket over guitars if it's very cold. Also makes them less visible to passers by!

Unless you have a nitro finish, you're good to go. You're probably still OK, since it doesn't sound like the guitar will hit freezing temps.

Would you put your guitars in the Refrigerator for that long?

If so, then no problem I guess.

The blankets won't help with keeping the guitars warm, considering they don't produce any heat.

It's like putting a blanket on anything in your fridge.
