    Hey guys,

I'm getting ready to get rid of my Tascam Porta MKII 4 track for recording.
Could one of you point me out to a nice moderatly priced unit that records directly to a CD? Something very similiar to the direct one unit Porta II but using CDs instead.
    I appreciate your help..........;)
    Best regards,
    Mass

You want one that records to hard drive and might include a CD burner. Do you have a computer with a CD burner? Then you don't need a built-in CD burner: you can make do with s/pdif digital mixdowns or USB file transfer.

The next post will be someone telling you not to get a portastudio and instead get an interface and software for your computer..

no, no it won't... I'd recommend a used Korg d1600mkII Digital Audio Workstation. Fairly easy to learn, decent sounding everything (except chorus/flange)
