Have an opportunity to buy a Mesa Rectoverb 1x12" 50watt combo for under $600 from an acquaintence
I have a rivera r30-112 which this would replace. Do I pull the trigger???

Hard to say. Like the first poster said, what don't you like about the Rivera. The Rectoverb is a nice amp, pretty versatile. Liked it better than some of the other Mesa's.

I guess i just really want a metal sounding overdrive channel.
My DNA Gainfixxer is good..but i dont think anything will sound like a mesa does.

Unfortunately, i was looking for something smaller in size, weight, and wattage...and this is not it

Great price and if you know the amps history, even better. If it's the sound you want jump on it cause nothing sounds like a Mesa Rectifier.

If it's in nice shape and you decide later that you don't want it, you shouldn't have any problem getting your money back (plus some) through a sale.

I really wish the Rivera R series did the Mesa Rectifier way-heavy thing and/or the smaller Mesas did a JCM800-ish thing like the Riveras. Still haven't found anything under a grand that does both well while having great cleans and nice reverb.
