I have a 1990 American Strat, I was told by the previous owner it was a brazilian fretboard. Did Fender use Brazilian boards on their standard strats at this time?

Also, is the grain/color difference large enough for me to tell the difference between Brazilian and other kinds of rosewood?

    Thanks.
