Check the Staples Singers catalog. Mavis solo (sola?), too. I'm not a huge gospel fan, but you should find something there.

Search Youtube 'house of blues gospel brunch' and 'best of sacred steel'. You will find some great guitar gospel tunes in those searches.

When you say get the church moving I am not sure if you mean as in upbeat energy or moving in the presence of the Holy Ghost? ;) Here are some great songs that came to mind. I have a million more if you need them. :)

Resurrection Power (by Israel Houghton) or All My Fountains (The Travis Cottrell arrangement).

Rez power if you have a horn section available; All My Fountains if a good mass choir is available.

I'll post it 'cause you're all thinkin' it. Sure, she was a footnote in musical history until this video went viral, and now, Rosetta Tharpe "practically invented Rock & Roll"

You can always take a secular song and change the lyrics to be about Jesus- Bobby Bland's "Turn On Your Love Light", would be a candidate.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if you can't think of or name one black gospel song, you should probably not attempt to perform any black gospel songs.

Sometimes it's better to stay in your lane.

Be careful with the term Black Gospel, had a keyboardist correct me once, he said it's not black, but Urban Gospel, with a very stern look on his face. Who would have thunk it.

Just throwing some PC advice your way. lol

I've played these at my church over the past few years:

We Praise Your Name - Trent Cory

    Our Father - BJ Putnam

    Shout Out - Ricardo Sanchez

I Will Search - Israel Houghton

I’ve never hear that phrase. Different strokes for different folks.
