    Currently have an Ecstasy 101b.
Unfortunately bills have caught up with me and I need to get rid of it.
Besides the fact that I always wanted the red chan. to breathe, but could never achieve that.
Played a Shiva recently and loved the tone, how powerful and aggressive it sounded.
It was thru a Diezel 4x12 with an American Strat Single Coil.
Is the reason the Shiva sounded so monstrous because of the cab?

Was thinking if I went to the Shiva, what boost pedal would allow me to not miss the 3rd channel of the XTC?

Is there another 3 channel amp with an amazing clean channel like the Shiva?

Another slight option I was thinking of.. was maybe getting a Marshall JCM either 800 or 2000 and pairing it with a good Fender amp and a boost, but I hate lugging so much stuff around.
Is this plausible or will my back hate me?

If you're wondering what music I'm into, I love John Mayer and bands like Thursday, Thrice and Every Time I Die.

    Thank you for your time.

Isn't the twin a bit much to lug around?

I've also had good results using a Fulltone OCD with the Shiva, but 99% of the time I use a Fulldrive II Mosfet to get either SRV on the clean channel, or 80's metal on the gain channel.

For me, the Shiva totally works. I can't speak for the XTC red channel, but I go for the Bonamassa / Gibbons / Haynes / Gary Moore tones.

    Stormin!

MasterTrax, that is my old set up exactly. Used a sftr that had been bf'ed and a jcm 800 4010 combo/aby box. Great rig that I wished i hadn't gotten rid of. Downside is a whole lot of stuff to carry and load. I'm getting older and just didn't want to deal with it any more. Could cover a whole lot of different tones with that rig and i do miss it.

I fell in love with the Clubman.

If you have the cash I also think the Bruno Cow tipper rediculous.

One of the best moves I ever made was replacing my Shiva head with a Koch Twintone. Gorgeous cleans, good dirt channel, short chassis, less weight, more features, and if you're talking used, half the price.

I'd suggest listening to their respective sound clips and judging for yourself. Here's the links:

    Shiva Sound Files

Koch Sound Files (Go to Downloads and choose Soundfiles)

Hey, I was just wondering if there were any other suggestions for an amp that will allow me to not miss my Ecstasy?
(Cleans think John Mayer, gain think Red Channel of the Ecstasy but more open, feels like it breathes and bigger sounding?)
