1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

...what power tubes are in my Ampeg R50H.

I know it's probably a stupid question, but I don't like the idea of getting fried by "DETHKAPS."

Seriously though, never been inside a tube amp. I know that some of the caps can kill you. I also know that I don't know what/where those caps are.

I've read that they're EL34s. I've also read that they're 6V6s (or 6L6s?). Just wondering if anyone here knew for sure...

Much thanks. Getting close to tube time. Very, very close.

    Thanks again,

For future reference, it's not difficult to find out. Just look at the back of the amp at the larger tubes, and read the numbers on them. As a tube amp owner you should be able to do this. Check it out.
