That is awesome. I know he fell on some hard times for a bit there in the legal dept. Did I read that correctly that Pino Paladino will be on bass? If so I hope they come to Austin, that would be such a great show to see!

^ Sweeeeeet! D'Angelo is a hero of R+B. None of his imitators could match his serpentine sense of groove or memorable melodies. I'll totally see this tour.

Hey man, that is excellent news. He is my favorite of all the R&B artists to emerge in the last 20 years. I saw him on the Voodoo Tour and it was incredible.

"R&B Jesus" sounds about right. Definitely not holding my breath waiting for the new album, but I'll be buying it the day it comes out.

He's for real this time. Here's a medley of Devil's Pie and Chicken Grease from this tour (actually it was from tonight's show!):

Pino Palladino and Chris Daves. damn.

    lol,
good to see the kid healthy and happy.

He's amazing. What if he had been putting out music the last 12 years in his prime.

I just hope he resists the pressure to do songs with Rihanna, Drake, Chris Brown, Kanye, etc. If he's on his game he's too good to need "special guests" and remixes.

Great stuff. I've never heard of this artist. My only gripe is that it was too close to what Prince does.......and Prince does it way better.

I wasn't familiar with D'Angelo's music, but I like what I heard on those clips. However, I would call it funk, not neosoul, but what's in a name anyway? How about some Charlie Wilson for neosoul?:

The neo-soul genre was pioneered by D'Angelo and Badu and Omar. If you heard more of D's album cuts, you'd hear less of the funk. Live, they are a funk powerhouse.

Another new D'Angelo joint, very Prince-like, with D on guitar. I like it a lot:
