Forgive me if this has a thread already.

I just finished this 2.5 hr. documentary on his life. I watched over three nights.

I guess I thought I kinda knew what he was about. I now realize I didn't know much at all.

Even if you're not a fan of Reggae ( I like it ) you owe it to yourself to check this out. Really in depth. Incredible footage. Rich insight about the man revealed by those close to him.

    Incredibly moving........

One of the 20th Century's most important musicians, IMHO.

    Visited his birthplace in 1991.
One of the most influential musicians ever.

His music is timeless and always takes me to a different place.

He would have turned 70 this February 6th.

One of the best shows I ever saw: Bob Marley & The Wailers, Beacon Theater, 1976.

I saw him at the Santa Cruz Civic around that time and I'd have to agree...

There's a recording of the show floating around. I need to find it again.

My wife saw him in Maui in the mid-70's. She said it was a lifetime experience. As the sun set there were whales jumping off shore. She thinks it was at the Maui bowl, which may not be there anymore. I wasn't there so I wont add any editorial comments on this period of her life. We came full circle a couple of years ago when we saw Julian Marley. At the end of his show he stopped to talk about his Dad and played a 30 minute tribute to his Dad's music. Wow.
