Neunaber Slate vs. "_" Pedal

So, the Stereo Neunaber pedals can be programmed to be any of the other Stereo pedal and then some, as you know. Neunaber is offering a Slate pedal, which is basically a blank pedal and you can write in marker the pedal, then erase it. It's $10 more, says a limited offer.

Would you get this or the Stereo Reverb that you were intending on getting?

opinions, including which may be more collectible are appreciated.

I have reservations about the collectability of any read/write pedal.

My issues are as follows:

a) there's no "serial-ization" for a pedal that loads firmware.
There's no way to confirm #001 vs #879 (other than for hardware).
There's probably no way to confirm which VERSION of the firmware is in place.
...as for the hardware.... who cares which version of the eprom-burner you have...seriously.

b) The 'replaceability' of the firmware just emphasizes the transitive nature of this pedal. It coulda been a chorus recently, but now the seller overloads that with the 'best-selling' stereo-reverb formware...just to make a buck or two more.

c) someone else's, scrawls... the last thing Iwant on my pedal.
If you write on it, do not expect me to buy it.

It wipes off with alcohol. No trace. No big deal. I think it is an incredibly cool idea. I don't know about collectability, but I think it is cool that Neunabauer allows users to switch the pedal to different formats rather than just sell you his chorus AND his reverb. I haven't personally downloaded anything on my stereo WET, but I need to try out the shimmer just out of curiosity.

I probably wouldn't buy the Slate over the WET graphics, but it is a novel idea for $10. Brian said the coating that allows you to write and erase Sharpie is more expensive than his graphics, thus the upcharge.

I don't really use chorus, I actually just sold my Analogman Bichorus, but, again, I think it is cool that they allow you the option of loading whatever pedal you want on the same hardware.

I like the fact it's a blank enclosure. If I bought one, I probably wouldn't write on it. I dislike most pedal graphics, though it obviously isn't that important in the long run. Worth the extra $£$£? To me, if I were to get a new one... Probably.

It's usability over collection for sure. Go buy a klon if you want to get resale. This is a game changer IMO. He will prob start offering all kinds of effects...it will be like the istomp but probably better sounding and heard towards a more ambient or unique crowd than digitech

I was in the market for a stereo wet, once some funds from other sales open up I'll have one on my board. I just learned last week about the swap ability with other programs. I'm in. This looks awesome.

I'd probably just opt for whichever "standard" Stereo pedal I wanted to use more, and then experiment with other software when the itch struck. The Slate being blank/writeable/erasable doesn't spark any interest in me.

If I were buying another new one, I'd probably buy the Slate just so that it wasn't identified as any of the pedals since I frequently change between different programs. I'd be just as content buying another Wet though and just pulling off the sticker and leaving it blank.

As far a collectability, you should probably find a better investment option if that is what you are looking for. Personally, I buy pedals because of how they sound and work for me, and not because of how much they will be worth next year.
