New amp build - EF86, 10w 6L6/EL34 single ended combo (in tweed)

    First rehearsal went really well - plenty of clean headroom and it really sung.. The extra harmonics that this gives over the push-pull amp I used before are clear to hear, thanks to the single ended design. With there being two gain stages in the amp in total (no tone stack, phase inverter etc) the amp has a very immediate feel if that makes sense - it seems that the response is very quick - that's how it feels anyway. Very pleased. All in the amp cost about £350 in parts I estimate. This includes the cab, speaker and tubes, everything in. My new TC Spark booster worked really well to give a nice volume boost too.
