Here's a little teaser.
UGG! You make so many amps I want already and the Wife isn't budging on new amp purchases. yet.
What power tubes are in this one? Just fat and nasty in the best way possible!
Thanks! This one is 4x 6V6 with a GZ34 rectifier and 2x 6SL7 octal preamp tubes. More info to come!
I should have known! My favorite tube. Does this have power scaling or a way to turn off two tubes?
I see 7 knobs and 7 switches on the front of the amp!
What speakers are in that cab? Is it a 4x12"?
Yeah, I love 6V6s. My first amp under the BC Audio name uses a pair of 'em, and it's a great little amp if I do say so myself. IMHO, 6V6s eat EL84s for lunch.
On the Bel Air 40 in the video, the big switches are Power On/Off, Quad/Pair, Pentode/Triode and Fixed Bias/Cathode Bias. The little switches are NFB, EQ Bypass and Bright. The cab is a 2x12 (mounted diagonally; the cab is 26"x26"x12"), one is a Celestion Creamback 75 (with the SM57), the other is a V30.
Thanks for your interest. More info soon!
I’m a goner. Those switches make it a very useable amp for me. I was looking at the #7 as I usually play with a tuner and Skullmaster (special rangemaster) and great cables and one of the many guitars I built.
I was looking at reviews for both 7 & 8 and noticed you mentioned working on a 40 Watt amp.
I've been "working" on this one for a long time!
This amp will do No. 7 (2x 6V6 cathode bias, tone stack bypass) and so much more. Official release is planned for next week. Hit me up if you want to be an early adopter!
Cannot wait to see vids. Sadly I can't jump on an amp right now, but you'd be on the short list. every BC am I've played, heard or seen is flat out PHENOMENAL! Good luck sir!!
Thank you, Mike!
I do believe this is going to be a HIT! Congratulations, Brother!
Thank you, my fellow Brother of Distortion!
More info here.
That sounds great.
Im going to have to sell 3 amps to do this with that 2x12 slant cab.
Bruce, do you still offer color choices on your amps? I have really bad luck with black amps. Failures and fires!
That's what the red stripes are for.
Seriously, yes, I do offer custom colors as a special order. PM or call me and we can talk.
