Sold a 1980 Princeton non-reverb yesterday and picked this Showman up today for $50 more. I'd call this a successful weekend. It's the first blackface I've ever had, so I'm pretty excited. Now just need to track down a good cab for it.

Have yet to have the chance to plug it in to speakers and really get it going, but it sounds pretty good through my little silent recording setup...[IMG]

Congratulations, nice score! As far as clean Blackface tones and headroom go, the BF Showman and BF Twin circuit are tops!

Very cool. Is it 4 or 8 ohm?

I've beeline looking for one for a while... But they aren't as cheap as they used to be. Might just by a head cab for my old twin.

    Thanks guys.

    This one is 8 ohm.

Might not be as cheap as they were, but considering what I've forked over for boutique amps in the past, and considering how good this thing is in comparison, I feel like I stole this amp. Even twins of the same vintage seem to be going for about 4-5x as much as the showman heads alone. Markets are crazy things.

I think 4-5x is a big exaggeration. I'd jump on any BF heads at the right price. Great amps.

Nice score. Yeah, Showman amps are a real deal usually... not that popular as no reverb and too powerful for may people. Paid $500 for the last BF one I got.
