New Amp Day (almost) '71 Princeton Reverb

    I'm soon to be an owner of a '71 Princeton Reverb and I couldn't be more excited.
    I haven't seen it in person or heard it yet. The amp is in pretty good looking condition although it is missing the top back door (I've ordered a replacement) and all of the tube shields. Original Fender blue label speaker although I plan to put a Celestion G-10 Vintage in it.
    I'm told that it was looked at by a good tech before it was brought to market but I don't know exactly what he or she did to it. I'm told that the amp is in working condition too. It apparently has new JJ 6V6's and a three prong power cord. The reverb cables are not original.

    I'm just wondering if there are things that I should look or check at right off the bat before I start really playing this thing. Also should I bother to replace the tube shields?

    There used to be an article on Tone Quest Report archive about Voodoo Princeton Mods that was a good read
