    Thanks!

So it showed up this afternoon and I've got about two hours in on it.

My first impression is that Matt (and the other contributors, Bill Megela who did the pickups & wiring, and Cue Gerhards who did the finish) surpassed my (very lofty) expectations by a long damn way. After about an hour of getting acquainted and learning how things work, I cut loose and let it rip. At volume. Between the two ports and the custom wiring, the guitar gives me a huge palette of usable sounds, all of which I really like. What was most surprising though, given the spruce top and the fact that it's definitely a hollow guitar, it totally held together at volume. Fuzz? No problem. Lead channel on my K&M? Lovely.

Left me thinking, why would I even need a solidbody guitar?

It was totally gratifying to sit there with a guitar that gives voice to all these things I've been accumulating from playing all the great guitars in my woodpile and thinking, yeah that's great but if it only did THIS... ...I was able to just let go and play in a way that I almost never do because there's always something just out of reach with whatever guitar I'm working with at the time. Not so with this one -- everything I reached for was within my grasp.

    Wow.

Obviously it will take a fair amount of experience with it before I really know what I've got, but as of this moment I'm pretty damn happy. :)

Will be interesting to see if this becomes a compliment to, or a replacement of, the PRS that you recently picked up from Craig.

I really dug that demo you did with it and it appeared you did too.

I love it when a builder exceeds expectations.

Hard to say how that's going to play out. At least so far, though, I'd have to say the new Artinger hits just a bit closer to the heart of my guitaristic and musical ideals. Plenty of room for both of them in the woodpile, though. That PRS is still a mighty fine guitar. :)

My wife shot this photo a few hours ago. Gives a better idea of how nice the color and the overall finish is. As for a video, I'll get around to that, or at least some demo recordings, one of these days and of course I'll post it.

I love your custom truss rod cover! I'm definitely jonesing to get back into a two humbucker configuration soon, with tonal flexibility. Glad to hear your initial impressions are so favorable!

I've been emailing and discussing specs for my Semi Hollow with Matt for a week or so. Hopefully we'll be getting started in the next cpl weeks when I'm finally ready to pull the trigger.

KingsleyD, I've enjoyed the demos on YT.
