Got my copy in the mail last week. Good stuff. If you like Ben, it likely won't disappoint.

Just a solo project. Ringo Star and Jackson Brown make guest appearances. It's a mix of uptempo and ballads.

Was just looking through the credits. This is really a Relentless7 record, it's that band. Wonder what makes one album a Relentless7 album, and the next just a Ben Harper album? The majority of the songs were written as a band.

    Great album though :D

Ben is just not Ben without JUAN NELSON.....I have several early Innocent Criminal Bootlegs and that band was crushing.

I'm guessing the record label made this a Ben Harper album, even though Relentless 7 wrote a majority of the songs with him and played on it.

True. Wonder how the last album sold? Maybe with the name Relentless7 it didn't sell as many??? But as a Ben Harper album they think it'll sell more.

The backup vocals lack without the Innocent Criminals. What was the story behind not using them anymore?

I had heard that a lot of the IC had side projects going on, and Ben had other things he wanted to try (more Rock oriented). I guess they are on "hiatus", they said they'd do more music and tour again.
