Dave Gilmore needed a few for his world tour so BK wired a few up. I got one from the second run of 6 and it's supposed to come today. Pics and clips are to follow for sure. It's a four knob version with all the tweeks and matched components. He will also build an Eric Johnson version with an adustable bias but the Gilmore version suited me just fine. :D

Awesome, can't wait to hear more about it, listened to the clips of it on Tonefrenzy forever ago and thought it sounded great!

I received mine today - I'm just waiting for it to defrost before I plug it in (it sat outside for 4 hours). Email bk@butleraudio.com for details - basically he is making small batches at a time. $300 + shipping.

I threw a 12AU7 into my Chandler Tube Driver (2nd version/wall wart verstion) and found that it brought out a creamy/silkier (sp) tone more like Johnson's, maybe a tad too smooth. I also read earlier today a 12AT7 is a good mix for the CTD, giving a mix between the 12AU7 and the 12AX7.

Just got home and it's here, now to hook it up. Here's the info BK sent me.

    [IMG][IMG] Posted: Fri Feb 24, 2006 12:43 am[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]New Limited Production!
    BK BUTLER T U B E D R I V E R q
Due to the interest generated lately regarding my limited production of original 4-knob Tube
    Driver pedals, here’s the information:
    · I’ll be building approx. 6 units every 2 weeks
    · Those who want to reserve a unit, please contact me via email: bk@butleraudio.com
    · Expect the build time to be at least 1 week, but I will give you an estimated shipping time
    when I answer your email
    · The design is the same as the original (as supplied to Eric Johnson, David Gilmour, etc)
but with some improved parts such as Switchcraft all metal jacks, click pots, etc.
    · Each unit is hand built to my specs and I personally check out each Tube Driver to
perfection. Then I engrave my signature on the bottom of the case. This insures
authenticity now and in the future!
    · The cost (as of 01-01-06) is $299 each, no quantity discount. Please either pay in full in
advance or 50% up front and the balance before shipping. I prefer PayPal payment:
bk@butleraudio.com or you can call in your credit card order to: 303-766-4504.
Shipping is $12 within the 48 states. Foreign orders welcome and I’ll calculate your
    shipping depending on location.
    · The custom variable “Bias” mod –added 5th control (I made several of these for Eric
Johnson) is available for $125 extra and may take a few additional days.
    · 220-240V, 50-60Hz is available at the same price, but I supply only with the USA style
plug as shown. (You will need to get either an adaptor or re-install the correct AC mains
    plug for your country).
    Here is how they look:
    ENJOY!!

As set it gives a good old plexi type of overdrive, ala Cream circa 1968.

Very cool! People always looking for those and $300 is not bad.

I hope to check out David Gilmour's setup on his spring tour, he just ordered two more sunfaces for himself and his bass player, who will use his in "echoes"! Can't wait to hear that...

    Have fun!

I ordered one today, BK done around March 14th. So hopefully I'll have it by the 20th or so at the latest. I'm working on my 2nd rig and I might have to put this with my Matchless since they both recorded so well a few weeks ago.
