I'm really interested in the Catalinbread Valcoder. Wondering how it might differ from my Fulltone Supa-Trem 1. Anyone here pick one of these up yet?

There wouldn't be any reviews because our retailers only released it to the public on the April 3rd street date. Later that same day we were called about a trademark issue regarding the lightening bolt. We agreed to immediately halt production and change the graphic. I have no idea how many Valcoders are still left in the wild, I do know that we were able to intercept a big ole batch of enclosures before they headed off to the silk screen shop.

I played it at SamAsh in Columbus Oh...

Pretty good pedal....the "overdrive" sound it gets sound nice enough, although to these ears a BB Preamp, Spark booster, Giggidy (ESPECIALLY the GIGGIDY) can get the same tones.

The trem portion was nice, and it was neat to see how the wave form changed as you twisted the dial.

For those wanting "that" sound, I think you're golden. For me, it wasn't what I was into/needed, not that I didn't enjoy those tones.

Good luck for anyone who gets one, I'm sure you'll like it!

I just came across a used, two knob mini version for sale, but didn't know they even existed.

I am waiting for the reviews as well. Holding off buying a new trem until then. Yep, I've got CB fever.

Call SamAsh in Columbus Oh and ask for Mike Stokes. Tell him Chris Kindler sent you. He can get you hooked up with the one they have (assuming they still have it)

Then you've got a return policy if you don't like it (for anyone who'd want to try it that way)

FWIW - I have no affiliation, just trying to help some fellow TPG'ers!

A lightening bolt? Sometimes I think these trademark disputes are ridiculous.

It's a great pedal if you really like super choppy tremolo, not so great if you like subtle, classic or smooth (it's probably in there somewhere but that is with the knobs all the way to the left then it gets choppy and thick way too fast for my tastes). I went back to my Stigtronics Tremolo and the Valcoder is heading back after one try. I really couldn't get the whole Input / Output Drive thing, interesting but not what I was expecting.

I received mine a few days ago. I am really enjoying it. The input dial gives you a nice tube grit. If you don't like that sort of sound then you can dial it back, but you do lose some volume, even when you compensate with the output dial. The depth dial goes from subtle to very choppy quickly. Doesn't seem to have a middle ground. With the dial around 10 o'clock it's very choppy.

If your looking for a fender tremolo, this is not for you. Go with the pariedolia instead, which is great as well!

Supro's cracking down on use of the lightning bolt, eh?

    That's too bad.

Wait...that's it...just a zig in the bolt instead of a zig-zag? Man...I get the need to protect brands and stuff but when those are the details the legal hounds are out for it's a little scary. Still a cool graphic though, especialy the V's font.
