Yes, we are still building. There had been some legitimate non-build-related issues that came up over the past 2 months, so there have been some delays. Everything is fine, just no pictorial reports over this time. The body was recently finished in the glorious Harmony Burst, and we should have some pictures to share soon. Thanks for patience!

05 Oct 2018: Neck work while the body finish is completed.

Rob needed to make a reminder note for himself re. the 12” fretboard radius (since most of his electrics are 9”).

Leveling and radiusing the board, ....

    ... and ready for fretting.

Thanks for your patience! It was an interesting end of the summer.

12 Oct 2018: Neck and frets

Rob has reported that the frets and most of the sanding are completed. I know that I am biased, but man oh man that looks like some sweet work. I like a little meat on the frets, and these look just about perfect!

30 Oct 2018: Rob passed on this set of images from the finisher - top and bottom left are my drunken lady, and bottom right is the Novo Serus J Harmony Burst that we requested my finish to be matched to. Since redwood is a bit darker in hue, we were concerned that the finish would come out noticeably darker than we would like. I think they hit it out of the park, and I think I'm in love ...

Thanks man, and you are so right! With less attention it definitely could have turned out much darker. Very happy with it.

19 Nov 2018: Having gotten the body back from the finisher, Rob set about to crafting a fitting custom pickguard for this wonderful finish. The first pass was a little different from our initial thoughts, mainly due to the carved body contour limiting area where the guard could go.

In light of the limitations, I thought a slight curve on the upper line between the pickups may give it a little more sex. Like a form fitting mini black dress for my drunken princess. Rob worked it up, and we were off to the races.

Next came cutting the initial form ...

    ... adding the bevel ....

    ... and installing the guard.

Needless to say, I am most pleased with this update. Can't want to play this instrument!

Looks amazing so far. It appears you will have lots of tonal options based upon all the control holes in the top.

All of the switches scare me, but the guitar is super cool. :)

Updated ETA of the Drunken Tele is early January.
Once completed, I will work up a demo highlighting some of tones from my drunken lady's pallet.

    Sing on, brother
    Play on, drummer

10 Jan 2019: After months of finish curing, the final wet-sand and buff have been completed. A beautiful job, with an alluring wet shine.
Next up, mounting hardware, shielding and installing electronics.
