I think we all have asked the question, is this budget amp or guitar gig worthy? Can it get the job done? This is the first of many installments of Gig Worthy featuring the Squier Classic Vibe 50's Stratocaster in Sherwood Green. In this review I take an off the rack guitar and put it to the test on an actual live gig.

Intro solo to Miss You was great!

My cv 50s tele is also gig worthy. I put a more powerful bridge pickup in.

I'm sure you can gig with a cheap guitar , I've done it and sounded good.
Howevery, any most guitar no matter if it is a cheap Squier or an expensive Fender USA Strat will usually benefit from a good set up.
Jack Pearson gets some great tones out of a stock but set up well Fender Squier Affinity Strat.

Excellent!! My 60's Classic Vibe Strat is actually the best Strat I've owned (out of 4 over the years). Totally gig worthy for sure.

Great job. I would love to see a jazzmaster version and an epiphone les paul one.

I bought the epi lp plustop standard pro and contemplating using it live but it's 9.4 lbs and I have not dimed the volume outside the house so don't know what it would sound like in a mix with a live drummer.

Could probably use a series on budget amps and pedals like behringer ones etc etc.

What a great idea and niche. Nice hero 4 use and placement.

Looks like you had a blast. Killer job..

I have a Mexican 50's Tele that plays and sounds as good OR BETTER than many custom shop Teles that I've picked up over the years. I love the feel of custom shop guitars, and I own more than my share, but from the moment I picked up this Tele I knew it was a good one. I did replace the pickups because I had a set of vintage Van Zandt's around but to be honest it doesn't sound that much better than it did with the stockers. I think, a good guitar is a good guitar period. Oh yeah, I also put on compensated saddles.

Would you position the Classic Vibe as better than the Classic Series or Classic Player?
