A friend let the cat out of the bag .It is called the Supersonic. From what I hear, it is a channel switcher. They claim to have created the bomb ass lead channel this time around. Sounds like I'm gonna order one tomorrow.Any one else have any info?:RoCkIn

Hopefully it's built better than the blues deluxe series....

They are shipping with vintage 30s in the combos. The price was about 1500 and change.

if it's 1500.00 it would have to be PCB..A 2 channel PTP amp built by Fender would be at least 3,000.00...That's my guess..

It will be available both ways....head and combo.

The head retails for $1399.99 and the combo retails for $1499.99.

    A 2-12" cabinet is available at $699.99 retail and there's a 4-12" cab available at $899.99 retail.

Take 30% off of those prices for a realistic "street" price.

They're available in either black or blonde Tolex.

I hope it's as sweet as the MetalHead, only louder!

    Forgive my lack of enthusiasm.

I think this is the amp Eddie Van halen worked on with Fender to get the lead sound "right"

I thought the lead sound was "rightest" when he played through a plexi marshall. Everything else got more distorted and less sweet IMO

True true, the days of being able to get power tube distortion from a 100 watt plexi in a club are far and few between, lol. I think Fender might have a winner if this amp has separate eq's and a refined lead sound, we know the cleans are going to be excellent.:RoCkIn

The Prosonic is a channels switcher with a twist. The clean channel can toggle between a Bassman and a Vibrolux voicing. The "burn" channel is based loosely on the Prosonic but has been completely reworked. It has the dual cascading gains and master volume like the Prosonic. The combos have accutronics spring reverb and an effects loop which can double as a boost. The heads just have the loop. It will be available in blonde w/ oxblood grill and cream barrel knobs or black with a new gray/ silver cloth w/ smoked chrome knobs. The combos are 1x12 , the same cab as the custom Vibrolux and heads can be had with either a 2x12 or 4x12 cab.

I don't know. The Peavey 5150 just didn't sound good to me. Maybe I'm getting too old but it was buzzy and the clean was shrill

While I know there is a certain percentage of the guitar playing population that would be happy if Fender did nothing but reissue its blackfaced and tweed models ...they do still have several offerings along those lines. There is a another percentage of the population that want the latest bells and whistles.
The Supersonic has a little of both and I think will be a pretty cool amp in it own rite ...I don't think this name has been used before??...anybody

they made some cheap guitars with the supersonic name but I don't think they have amps with that name

Why doesn't Fender build a PTP 40-watt Blackface curcuit (Super/Pro/Vibrolux) with Reverb and Tremelo and offer it in both a head and 1x12 combo? This would cover it for the Blackeface lovers.

For Tweed, they could do a 15-watt 1x12 (Deluxe) and a 30-watt 3x10 (Bandmaster) to complement their re-issue Tweed Twin.

I can understand that Fender can't build everything, but I think this would cover about 90% of what people look for in a vintage-style Fender amp.

    My $.02...

I have a two-word recommendation for Fender's amp division: tube rectifier.
