    Fender Mustang GT Firmware

    Version 1.5.20 (Oct 9, 2017)

    • New Effect Models
      • Fender Harmonic Tremolo: Straight from the great Fender “Brownface” amps of the early 1960s, this tremolo effect alternately emphasizes high and low frequencies for a distinctively swishing and almost phaser-like sound
      • EQ 5 Graphic: Inspired by the EQ from the Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ amp, this five-band EQ is specifically voiced for guitar
      • EQ 7 Graphic: Inspired by the Boss GE-7 pedal, this seven-band pedal EQ is voiced specifically for guitar, with fine sonic tailoring
      • EQ Parametric: Three-band equalizer with parametric mid control, ideal for dialing in an exact mid-boost frequency for solos or for creating deliberate feedback
      • Vibe Unit: Inspired by the classic pulse of a Uni-Vibe pedal
      • Octobot: A distinctive octaver effect with prominent one-octave-down plus subtle one-octave-up capabilities for otherworldly “synthesized” tones
      • Envelope Filter: Automatic wah effect inspired by the temple-of-funk 1970s popularity of the mighty Mu-Tron III pedal
      • Round Fuzz: Inspired by the 1969 silicon-transistor version of the venerable Fuzz Face distortion unit
      • VariFuzz: A Fender-created fuzz effect similar to Round Fuzz, with the addition of variable tight-to-loose bass tonality
    • Improved Bluetooth connectivity for devices running Android version 6.0.1
    • Improved parameter sensitivity for several amp models and effects
    • Fixed issue with 60’s British amp model where Bright Switch appeared to be non-functional. This is a subtle effect that selects between Normal & Top Boost channels.
All non-FMIC product names and trademarks appearing in this document are the property of their respective owners and are used solely to identify the products whose tones and sounds were studied during sound model development for this product. The use of these products and trademarks does not imply any affiliation, connection, sponsorship, or approval between FMIC and with or by any third party.

Also the Fender Tone app has been updated to v1.2 (iOS) and v1.6 (Android).

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 9.00 Firmware Release
    *******************************************************************************
    9.00
Removed the “Motor Drive” and “Transformer Grind” algorithms and associated parameters from the Amp block. These have been replaced by the new “Speaker Compression” algorithm. This algorithm models the interaction of the power amp with the power compression of the virtual speaker. The “Spkr Comp” parameter controls the amount of virtual speaker compression. This value defaults to 3.0 when the Amp block is reset. It does not get reset when changing the model. If using the Axe-Fx II with a tube power amp and conventional guitar cab you may want to reduce this value to 0.0. The gain reduction meter shows the amount of virtual power compression (select the Spkr Comp knob to monitor the gain reduction). Typical guitar speakers compress between 3 and 6 dB depending upon construction, age, volume, etc. The default value is conservative and yields about 3 dB of compression.
Note that the Master Volume control will interact considerably with the Speaker Compression algorithm as will the Presence and Depth controls. Higher values of Master Volume will cause more virtual speaker compression.

Improved Delay block. Also reworked the Deluxe Mind Guy, Mono BBD and Stereo BBD delay models based on the improvements.

Added “Blackglass 7K” Drive model based on a Darkglass B7K. The model was obtained with the Attack and Grunt switches in the middle positions. The Grunt switch changes the low-cut frequency therefore the Low Cut control can be used to replicate this switch. The Attack switch controls a shelving filter on the input and can be replicated using the Tone control.

Boss Katana is at 2.02 now.

    Update history
    [ Ver.2.02 ] NOV 2017
    Bug Fixes
    The following bugs were fixed.
    • When TONE SETTING is set to "PANEL," after using the GA-FC (foot controller) to set respective effects to "OFF" and then again selecting "PANEL," the respective effects return to "ON."
    • Selecting a TONE SETTING for which EQ is set to "OFF" yields sound for which EQ is set to "ON."
    • When a MIDI Program Change message and Control Change message are received simultaneously, the Control Change message is not applied.
    • When the unit is updated to version 2.01, all TONE SETTING Program Change numbers are set to "1." (This occurs when updating from version 1 to version 2.01.)
      * Use BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA Version 2 to set the Program Change number for each TONE SETTING.
    • When the unit is updated to version 2.01, the SEND/RETURN values for BANK A and "PANEL" are set to "OFF." (This occurs when updating from version 1 to version 2.01.)
      * Use BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA Version 2 to set SEND/RETURN to "ON."

AMT Pangaea CP-100 FW PA-6-3 (beta)

Haven't seen this here yet, not much an idea about the details, either (not my fault but AMTs), so here's what IMO has been added (some of it was in 6-1 already, but I never installed it, AMT really do their best to hide all public information, let alone they will ever send out some news...):
    - Noise Gate.
    - Compressor.
    - Preamp sim. No dirt, just volume and BMT.
    - Poweramp sim with 8 models (no idea what they represent).
    - EQ can be positioned pre/post (possibly as the very first or very last thing in the chain).

In addition, there's now an editor for Windows.
