I'm both proud of myself and amazed that I held off through the great CME Gibson blowout of 2017. First it was the ES Les Paul Goldtop VOS Bigsby then the Pelham Blue ES Les Paul, with detours to the ES-275 and Lucille but I made it all the way through 2017 without pulling the trigger!

Hope in a year you don’t regret it, yeah it’s the big 2017 CME blowout, probably the largest in the last decade blowout on Gibson’s.

Wow, that's a bit of a morbid thought. Let's hope you're very much wrong about that.

I popped today for a burst VOS 330 with a bigsby with the 15% sale. Came out to $1848. At that price how could I not? You don't really ever even see them used for that.

I got the ES330 in Natural for $100 more.
Don't think we will see these types of guitars at this price for a long time too come.JT

While waiting, call that Gibson security number just for kicks.

That's not really my thing, it's not CME's fault I didn't like it. Other's have no problem doing a "rental" of a brand new guitar, but I'm not one of them.

Take it out of the box!!! The box acts as an insulator and elongates, unnecessarily, the wait time. Also, you can place the guitar near a heat source that won't hurt the guitar and speed the process. Or, just wait all night and open tomorrow, which sounds horrible!!!! :)

I thought it was going to be hard enough to resist opening when my ES-Les Paul arrived today, but UPS decided to troll me and mis-sort the guitar that's been sitting in the local warehouse since Sunday and now I have no clue when it'll show up -- I already stayed home from work to receive it today but they updated the tracking 20 minutes ago to remove the delivery date/time :-( It does show a departure scan early this morning instead of "Out for Delivery" so I'm thinking they accidentally sent it back to CME or something.

Exactly. Reminds me of a post on HC years ago when someone wrapped their new box/guitar in a blanket so it would warm up faster. Nothing you could say to him that would convince him he was being counterproductive...

Having ordered on sunday, waiting for this thing to even leave CME is killing me. Still hasn't shipped although I guess they just got back to work.

Things can really get screwed up especially this time of year. I have found out on a few occasions that “Out For Delivery” does not mean you will get it that day.

Received my 3rd CME ES-335 today. I ordered it on Thursday and it'd been sitting at the UPS hub since Friday evening. Night time temps have been steadily in the sub zero range. Turned the space heater on in the music room while I went out to pick it up from the hub this morning. The box had 1 really nasty looking gouge right where the headstock area would be, and another sizable gouge on the other side. Inspected the damage and it didn't touch the case, so I figured all would be fine. Got the case out of the box, and let it warm up in the room for an hour or 2. Propped the case lid open a little using a soapbar P90 cover. After a few hours I checked out the guitar, and all is just fine. This is definitely the best of the 3 I ordered, not a flaw, and the setup is spot on. This one will be a keeper. This is a crappy cell phone pic. At these prices, these guitars are a steal!!!
