The waiting is the hardest part! Hope you like yours as well as I like mine.
Nice! Looks just like mine. Total winner!
I'm loving my figured cherry ES-335 that I got a few months ago. My Tele is getting jealous! I might've said this before, but I never imagined getting my dream ES-335 while being able to keep my 1959 ES-225TD. This may sound a little over the top, but this deal made that dream come true.
I'm so happy to hear other people loving theirs!
I don't know if it was promotion approval day for someone or what, but I have a black Gibson with no swirl marks... Didn't even know it was possible! The neck is pretty damn fantastic and it's a lively sounding guitar, unplugged... We will see tomorrow how I get along with the 57 classics as I hated them in my SG but enjoy them in my 175d quite a bit. I think there's one minor setup tweak I'll have to do but, out of the box, this thing was perfectly playable and nary an imperfection to be found
Got my 335 earlier today, but just now gonna have some free time to really play it.
Here are a couple quick shots I took at unboxing
My first 335 ever. I am pleased
@morgan918 I also grabbed one of those, and it also hasn't shipped. Have you heard anything yet?
OMG... thats is a real beauty......
I opened up my Lucille this morning and she is goreous. Only "flaw" I could find was a tiny black spot in the binding on the headstock, nothing that bothers me at all. I can't wait to plug her in after work.
What exactly does the CME warranty get you, one year? We don't
get lifetime warranties here in Canada, so no biggie.
I spoke with CME / Carl K yesterday and I'm going to buy a 335. Seemed like a good and straight forward guy. Has anyone else here dealt with him? Everyone seems to be dealing with Matt.
I worked with Joel, everything went smoothly.
my '63 Historic Burst. Love it!
So far, I've dealt with Tyler, Dan, Matt...all three have been cool and the process smooooth
I worked with Carl Kammin -- was fine. Straightforward. I also worked with Matt.
No, nothing yet. I might check in with them today.
Wow, that's a real looker! The wait is killing me.
My Gibson Memphis Floor Model CME family:
Quick question about the hardware on the non reissue 335's. Has anyone lowered the tailpiece from the stock configuration, which is raised up a bit, I am assuming to avoid a steep break angle? If so, it seems like the post is a large hex screw, as oppose to the traditional flat head, do you adjust it with a large allan wrench? I'm going to slap new strings on, lube the nut, tighten the bushings, and I am unsure if I am going to mess with it, since it plays so well, but I was still curious.
Congrats! My exact take on '57s
Pics really don't do the Cherry Lucilles justice. Mine has some smoldering flame in the top that is more like a glow than a flame. Impressive from first look, to first feel, to unplugged resonance, and to plugged in heaven.
This one has a little bit darker tone to it than the Lightburst one did. That was a big plus for me, as is the fact that it’s not a real grainy top. I like plaintops to be more, well... plain. I can’t emphasise enough just how sweet of a deal these are. Can’t think that there’s a lot of these left to be had.
