With the addition of dual DeArmond Dynasonic pickups?single coil pickups first created by DeArmond in the 1940s and long revered for their innovation and incredible tone?this guitar brings sweet highs and rich, full lows to the Starfire family. Other premium features include a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, elegant ivory white body binding, all gold hardware, and a beautiful high gloss Royal Brown finish. This model features a Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece for increased sustain and stability. The Starfire II Dynasonic is a welcome addition to the Starfire family, offering Guild?s classic vibe and vintage tone.

Love my original '61 Starfire III with the Dyna's. Bout time Guild revived it! In it's almost original form. What is the body wood? Mine has thin laminated mahogany body woods. It just crackles with tone, records beautifully and uniquely. I played it mostly thru a Korg Vox AC15 with a Celestial Blue speaker.

Cool, reminds me of my buddy's old one. He'll be stoked, maybe he can retire his beat up one now.

Anyone know anything about these new Dynasonics?. Are they faithful to the originals as far as magnet type, strength, etc.?. Are the polepieces height adjustable as with the originals (many of the modern clones are not)?.
    Thanks,
    Al

The new ones are essentially reissues of the Gretsch Dearmond 2000 models. The polepieces are magnetic and adjustable to some extent but the poles are not long like the current Gretsch Dynasonic or vintage Dynasonics.
    ...or a Guild-sby?

What kind of a neck profile are these? I miss my old Black Falcon with Dynas.
