New Guitar build - floating floyd considerations

I've got the hankerin' real bad.

Can anyone tell me if a typical recessed-Floyd's string height is lower or higher off the deck than a standard Strat's? I'm planning a new build and am looking for a bit more air between the strings and body. I may have to go non-recessed to achieve this. I'm going to have the trem floating, btw.

Cheers, gang.

You can set the string height above the body with the neck angle, so you should be able to put it wherever you want it. If the strings (and therefore Floyd) are up high, you might not need much recess. A lot of Charvels don't have any route under the Floyd but the neck angle puts the Floyd up off the body high enough to pull a step or so sharp.

TY. I don't ever pull up any further than a half step, so your post def eases my mind.
