Happy new guitar day to me.

Normally I wouldn't make a post bragging, but I am going to this time. This guitar is absolutely spot-on perfect... And I am VERY critical. And of all the Gibson's I've ever owned, this was my very first one I ever bought brand-spankin-new. I was really expecting "average" at best, something I would return at worst.

I can't imagine having a dozen of these identical guitars to choose from and finding one that is more perfect then what was shipped to me. Feel and sound, the thing is just "a keeper". And I haven't found "a keeper" in a loooooooooooooooong time.

So yes, for it to be that much better than what I was expecting to arrive, I am going to brag a little. I love this guitar.

Having worked at two Gibson dealers, I knew that Gibson's "quality control issues" you always read about on the net are largely overblown. Still, if there ever was a guitar that arrived with "issues", it was always an SG. So that had me sweating bullets. Plus, having been in shops and handling literally hundreds over the years, my idea of a "stand out" Gibson are probably approaching unrealistic.

So the fact I got one, sight unseen, that feels and sounds absolutely perfect to me is like hitting a mini-lotto and I am bouncing off the walls.

Mega siiiiiiick!!! In fact (and I swear to God this is true) that was the first word out of my mouth as I slowly pulled it out of the case! Hahahaha!

Dammit that's pretty! Cool thing is that it'll look even better as it ages a bit.

Rad Brett! You need to bring that bad boy over and crank it up through some of my amps. You know I'm an SG fanboy. HNGD!

Well, It isn't my favorite SG, but I like it. I'd like to hear it though. What kind of pups do these guys come with?

Burstbucker 1s, slightly underwound, medium vintage output. Which is great for me as I am not real fond of hot humbuckers, especially on an SG.

I should have known TrainBridge lurked around on TGP. You of all people would dig this bigtime. And I haven't even shown you my Jazzmaster, in (almost) the same color, muhahaha!!!

Congrats on a beauty! Can you describe the Tweedy neck profile please? Measurements (1st fret thickness) would be great too... hint, hint!

    Thanks
    Chris
