    Hi guys,

    Don't post much, but I love to read. The reason I started this thread is because I got a GREAT guitar in the mail today;
    The Ian Anderson Standard.

I've allways been a lp-guy and wanted to try something "new". Then I found a FS add on this forum for a black IA. Compared to my favorite guitar (a '05 R9) this guitar is a lot more focussed. The R9 is a little more round and vintage sounding, the IA is very direct and has more sparkle.
It plays very light and balances very good with a strap.

Took the original pu's out and put in my extra set of thobak 101 ltd.
This made the thing come to live!! Now it's very fat, yet bright and vintage sounding. Couldn't be happier with the outcome.

I bought is from Monte, and he is a great guy to do bussiness with. Fast responses on my emails, good price and GREAT packing. Wish I had the cash to buy his Gustavsson :drool

I'm a very lucky man to have 2 great guitars now that really compliment each other.

    As for the pictures:

NICE, now I need a white pickguard!

I have a 3pl. black one that came with it, but I didn't have the balls to drill 2 holes in my new guitar. They look good with a pg!

    I love this guitar!

I tried different amps today, a Badger, Custom Audio and some Marshalls, it sounded great.

Tried the pickguard, looks classy don't you think?!

I second that recommendation of Ian - terrific guy and everything, but OMG is this guy knowledgeable. If you can buy stock in his company DO IT NOW.

Actually, Ian Anderson is a bad person, and clearly a bad builder too. I know him, so this evaluation is from an, er, unimpeachable source. Yeah, that's the ticket - unimpeachable!

In fact, lucky for the general public, I'm currently offering to take anyone's Ian Anderson instrument off of their hands - I'll pay any Anderson owner a small fee to help rid themselves of those nasty guitars. Naturally I make this offer selflessly, with no thought of personal gain (GRIN).

    OK, OK, It's a JOKE!

I had the distinct pleasure of hosting Ian's Gold Top guitar at NAMM at the Tone King booth - 4 whole days worth of hosting. My hands got a little tired playing that guitar 8-10 hours per day at NAMM, and I was a little distracted at times, otherwise Ian would NEVER have been able to pry it loose from my hands.

Ian's guitars are stunning - they play right, they look right, they sound freakin incredible, and feel like vintage pieces with great balance. Wonderful attention to detail, wonderful fit and finish, my hat's all the way off to Ian!

This "Black Beauty" is clearly ANOTHER great one. You're a lucky man, Dutch!

    Thanks, Dana O.
