Joe Plays a 1959 LP as you know.

He also plays a LP with a special wound Hi-bred Godwood set by WCR.

He also plays an LP with Un-potted Burstbucker 2&3s

If I buy this Seymour Duncan set.....I'll have all Three.

Now if I could only play........!

of course these two dudes can play.......seymour looks to be playing thru a boogie. my bet is they'll sound fantastic. i like the current dimarzio's, but these look tempting maybe. is it just me, or could seymour pass as gary rossington's father..........i know he's not much older lol :munch

$375 per set. Limited Edition of only 1959 sets. Contact SD Custom Shop to place a order. If there's any left. They wont ship out until sometime in March.

maybe seymour needs to get a bludo or dumble to help his "ass" tone. or maybe he should dust of one of his old module amps. and some think jb is another kenny g........so who here can play circles around him :munch

I thought it was a modded Darkburst set, with an overwound DB bridge and an underwound DB neck?

These new Duncans feature an alnico 3 bridge magnet, which on paper doesn't sound like a good idea. Most people tend to use A3 to tame a neck pup, not sure about using one in the bridge.

So I gather these are based on the stock pups he had on his Les Paul or are these new pups on how he's NOW trying to shape his sound.

Not just you. Very compressed, nasal, dang near almost cocked wah type tone. Not my thing at all.

Interviews of the pickups? That's bad a$$!

I wouldn't doubt if Seymour dialed that tone in on purpose. It completely contrasts Joe's and really allows you to separate what is what.

^^^ or its just the JB he uses, which can be compressed and nasally sounding anyway.

The SD buckers are based on his vintage 59 LP PAF's. Joe named the guitar "Magellan".

Not that this is anyone's business and has nadda to do with guitars or pickups, Beth Hart is married. Joe is in a relationship with Sandi Thom. Joe is a cool dude. Stardom has not gone to his head. He has a really great family and is a very grounded person.

Anyone been in the same room with a set of these pickups? I'm curious to hear any first hand accounts.

I looked them up $375.00 plus tax if you live in Ca. as I do, so about $410.00 delivered with "eye candy". Fare enough I suppose.
From what I can tell they come with Braided two wire leads and un-potted. Alnico II and Alnico III mag pickups with wooden spacers. ALL 1959(Qnty) built in S.D. Custom shop on the original Gibson Kalamazoo plant machines that made the original PAFs. I gotta admit that's quite the cool hype...

These just might be real great PAFs....I may have to pull the trigger.

Judging by Bonamassa's Tones- these may be amazing pickups for some people.

How come no 4 wires for coil cutting and parallel etc. ?
