Here's a link to Joyo's new range including the Plexi Drive (actually a JCM800 in a box type disto) an analog delay, analog chorus, Noise gate, AB box and a couple of others.

Hope they're as well priced and ace sounding as the Joyo's I have on my board at the minute. Regarding my British Sound and Vintage OD, I'm still trying to work out the catch but so far nothing has gone wrong with them, they're just great little things!

And it looks like a HBOD clone. That's definitely pretty cool. [heh, ninja'd twice while I was typing.]

These look a lot better, too. Looks like they gave up on the weird graphics.

I wasn't massively impressed by my Crunch Distortion, but then again that may have been because the Crunch Box wasn't for me anyway. But it was pretty good for the money, and these look slightly more refined aesthetically...

I'm interested in this as well. I really hope it's not just another 300ms DM-2 knockoff at 9v, though. Probably will be, but I can always hope.

I've heard these will be out in the next month or so, I hope it's true.

Are the ACTone, California, British and other "character" pedals designed to be used "sans amp" through the PA? Are they clones of the Tech 21 pedals? It certainly looks like it.

    Okay wait.

We villanize guys that rebox their pedals for sale, or clone other boutique builders......

But then it's okay when Joyo is coming up with percived 'clones' of MP pedals?

    My brain hurts.

I have a problem with guys who market something as thier own design when it is'nt,... i dont personally care that people make copies it just means more options. I do support and buy the originals whenever possibel. In the case of a SHOD thats just not feasable for me. I look at joyo's as a great way to try out this pedal without selling an organ. Maybe joyo will have a "Beta dirt" out soon, a clone of a copy. lol.

I assume this is over the naming convention and not the circuit? They seem to indicate their plexi drive is based on a JCM800.

They have been contacted about trademark infringment. I haven't reversed the circuit, but even if it was a clone there isn't anything a person can do about that.
We were told at NAMM by the owner's representative (the owner didn't speak english) that they were renaming their "plexi drive" so as to not violate trademark.

    Okay wait.

It's wrong for someone to market someone else's stuff as their own design. But it's not wrong for someone to steal it (giving credit) and marketing the design, because it's costing YOU less, nevermind that it's somoene making money of intellectual property not their own.

So because you can't swing a SHOD, it's okay to give money to someone that stole the design?

    Wow.

It's cool for boutiquers to clone Rats, Muffs, and 808s. But it's bad if the big manufactuers (like Joyo, Behringer, etc) clone boutique circuits (which are often clones themselves). Go figure.

It won't ever make logical sense, Mike. It's an emotional response, not a rational set of rules.

    :bonk

(for the record: I'm not opposed to cloning; I'm opposed to lying about it)
