    Ok, let's say we get to design a Kemper profile player (no profiling). Let's start with the MRD.

    Ok. So list what you'd like the unit to do/have and what it can lose from the current KPA system.
    I'll start the MRD in post #4 and will update it as we go along.

    - target price?

    * $10 under the MSRP of the current passive desktop profiler

    - target consumer?
    - competition?
    - feature set?

    * play profiles.
    * knobs for EQ, volume, and gain
    * XLR and 1/4" stereo outputs
    * top/front mounted USB slot
    * ac plug - no adapter bricks
    * no battery operation needed
    * bluetooth biofeedback headband
    * scratch and sniff "hot tube" smell cards.


    - prototype ship date?
    - production ship date?

    Oh man I loved it all! I think they kept up the momentum brilliantly up till the end! The fact that they got it past the NBC censors is crazy considering how gory it was :Devil

    Totally. So, what do you want the unit to do other than play profiles?

    The unit shares dsp while profiling or either playing the profile (and fx). So I don't think you can reduce dsp needs as a player to get the price-point down.
