I installed some of Mick's pickups I've had in stock - a Hot Rod '59 in the neck and a Wurstkotzenbucker in the bridge. I have RS volume, CTS tone, a .022uf PIO cap on the bridge and a .015uf PIO on the neck as well as a treble filter on the neck volume. All I can say is WoW - not only do they rock but they clean up so nice . . .

LOL. Sweet Mike! The Wurstkotzenbucker is a cool pup. I remember when Ian designed that sucker. I bought a few of them. Really nice pups! I checked his site out a few days ago and didn't see them for sale anymore. I'm glad I got some while he was winding them!

Glad to hear you had success with Mick's pickups.

I have several sets of his pickups in various guitars. I love the quality of his pickups, and Mick is a nice guy to deal with. I have a set of "Fat Dianes" in my '68 SG Standard. Real nice pickup.

Other pickups I'm using are:
Howlin' Goat - '69 SG Junior
Howlin' Goat (slightly hot) - '62 SG Special
Landmark PAF - '85 Les Paul
'61 Spec (similar to Rory G.) - '60s mongrel Strat
Franken Tele - Partsocaster Tele

None of the guitars had original pickups, and I'm glad I tried Mick's pickups.

I have no doubt Mick would wind a Wurstkotzenbucker for anyone who paid him to - it really is a nice pickup. :dude I've had Hep Kats', Fat Diane's, Manlius Special's, Rebel Yell's he cloned for me and this set and every one of them sounded great. :beer

Yeah every Manlius pup I have sounds awesome. He is real nice to deal with too. I have called him a few times and told him what I wanted and he winds them right up. Super nice guy.

I have a Fat Diane in the neck position of my Thinline Tele and a Esquire Pro in the bridge position. The tones are great. Excellent pups at a very reasonable price.
