So Orange just dropped this at MusikMesse '15: the Bax Bangeetar Guitar Pre-EQ. Buffered bypass, internal charge pump, built-in switchable boost, cab sim output, sweepable mid EQ... looks like a lot of options. Of course it also looks like a pretty sizable box, but if you want Orange-In-A-Box, I'd imagine this is gonna be tough to top. I'll be curious to see how it sounds... and what it costs.

Here's the actual Orange product page as well.

(That is of course assuming it actually makes it to market; I seem to recall they showed a pair of dirt boxes at MusikMesse or NAMM or something a couple years back that failed to materialize.)

That thing looks really cool to me. There are some sound clips at the Orange home page and they sound really good.

Bleeding Cowboy font is a dealbreaker for me. Design fail. Looks totally rad aside from that.

You can order one from Andertons and with international shipping it comes to about $312. If the dollar strengthens a bit more it could be a better deal.

I'll agree it isn't the prettiest thing... I kinda wish they'd have gone pics only on the knobs, like the old OR100, and I'm with SetFire on the cowboy font. Nevertheless, I do think it sounds pretty sweet. Not sure too many folks will pay that kind of money to make their DeVilles and DSLs sound like Oranges, but I guess we'll find out.

Just a thought: if you want to highlight how Orange-y the pedal sounds, don't plug it into an Orange amp for the demo.

Good point celticelk. this thing does seem pretty cool to me though, and the price doesnt surprise me so much considering the retail cost of their custom shop amps. Would love to hear this through a fender clean channel

I'd really like to try it out, but I'm an Orange fanboy. Being that I own two if their amps I suppose it would be redundant to buy one.

On the other hand, *way* cheaper than an Orange tube head, and more convenient if you need both Orange and non-Orange sounds on the gig.

    Anyone tried it?
Does it sound good for clean/low gain settings?
