Hmmm - for me the volume/gain control on the original didn't seem to do much if anything above noon.

Really? Full size or compact? On my compact, there's a big change in gain all the way up to the max.

fantastic, thanks! I have some preamps that will only work into fx returns or power amps and not into front ends of even clean amps. I wonder if this will work well into the front end of a clean amp as well? Sounds fantastic in that demo thru the fx return!

Original. Tried the compact, did notice a bit more gain there.

I'm quite sure Simon would be willing to admit he is not a high gain player - but here is a first demo from NAMM, and I like the thought of the setup with a HX Stomp:

I hate to say it but I am not a fan of the sounds in this video at all. I’m not knocking Simon’s playing because I know high gain isn’t his thing, just how it’s dialed in.

I agree, Rabea's sound is quite a lot better, but that is also through a good tube amp and OX amp with stellar reverb etc - I presume the NAMM clip is through HX stomp, so one could probably talk about what presets the RD HR is run into...

Good point. It doesn’t make me want one any less. Now if only a US dealer had a pre-order for a custom version...

Has anyone actually been able to pre-order a custom? I haven’t found any in the US.

Sounds pretty good, but is way too big for my purposes. And very expensive. I’d be interested compact sized unit though.

Great one! Simon had a cup of coffee, changed guitars and showed off that he does after all manage to blast good some high gain lead riffs!

This one is definitely better for sure. Truthfully, I’m on the fence. I’d love to try one but it’s an expensive commitment and Im really, really digging the Neunaber Neuron right now. On the other hand, I took the plunge on the original RDC, enjoyed the hell out of it and then recouped my money selling it. Decisions, decisions....
