In the latest jazz times there is an Ibanez PM35NT. Single cut, single pickup 175 style guitar. Looks like it might be an artcore. No picture of the back.

    Anyone know anything?

They have it at 699 Euros, so it must be an Artcore. Won't stop me, though! I've been waiting for a single body-mounted pickup Artcore, as all that I have played have been outrageous values.

It's more in line (body style wise) with what he's been playing a lot recently - though I seriously doubt he'll be playing this Artcore version. I'm seeing him w/the Trio in March - countdown to Metheny!

Have no infos, but I never got the point of the actual PM two cutaway signature models anyway. They're not the guitars PM actually uses/plays on stage.

He used them both times I've seen him live.

I never ever saw him with the two cut model. Not once. Neither live nor television/vids etc.

    Always with this one:

regardless of what you've seen him play with, he does use the PM100 and PM120 guitars. He was using the PM100 first time i saw him and PM120 second time I saw him. In fact, he almost sold it to me when he was upgrading to a new one.

I can vouch for that, I saw him with the PM100, a black one. I also saw him with the one pictured.

I used to see Pat a whole bunch 'back in the day' with that old beat to **** 175 he used to have that sounded like a million bucks. Those were good times....

(I didn't have anything to add, really, it just made me nostalgic...)

on the live The Way up vid, he only plays the singlecut model.

he actually had 2 of them.

    GREAT DVD, btw

yeah, I remember when he used to play the 175. I have the Shadows and Light (Joni Mitchell) footage on tape somewhere....

I got to meet Pat in the dressing room after a Pat Metheny Group concert in 1978 in Westport, CT at the Player's Tavern and got to see his old ES175 with the one pickup removed and he let me check it out. I also bought an MXR digital delay after that since I asked him how he got such an ambient airy sound. He used the MXR & a Lexicon tapped delay in a stereo setup with 2 Acoustic amps.

I've seen him play that guitar single cutaway guitar most, Although I have seen him play the double cut's. I think that's one of his early signature guitars.

Pat really does not seem a gear snob though, he still plays his old 12 string Artist live and that Roland guitar synth must be held together with... well probably an old toothbrush!!!!
