So, what’s it like? Is it more of a jazz album, fusion, blues? How would you describe it?

Thanks for the heads up, OP. @Average Joe I would say it's more of a jazz album with elements of fusion, blues, and rock, but primarily a jazz album.

Had a it a few weeks now, it was released early in the UK. Love it. Ford's playing on Track 2 is an OMG moment. Not many guys of his age cut loose like that in the studio.

So - not the pianist who played with Miles on Kind of Blue?

I've yet to hear of a dead artist return to successfully record an album.

    Listening now.

Much prefer this RF to the direction he's moving in for his solo work.

Good to hear the ODS there as well after moving away from it for Purple House.

Solo on the first track - there's that damn POG!

Interesting recording of his ODS too. Sounds like the micing position is placed back from the cab. Sounds really roomy.

    Damn POG indeed !
Other than that great guitar tones with the Dumble, very roomy indeed, I like it a lot.
The songs are not very adventurous, but there’s a nice groove to them, it’s pleasing to listen to this record, relaxing in a way.
    Cool rythm section as well.

    Yep, could be.

Thankfully I don't think it appears again.

    Great summary. I agree.

Agreed regarding your Purple House comment ...I was a little let down after hearing that album. But then this one came around, great music and love the ODS! ...I do believe that his Can micing is somewhat similar to what you are suggesting also, I think Robben mentions his preferred mic placement on the recent Anderson's video.

Just started listening but I can already tell I’m going to agree with you. Dig this much more than his recent solo efforts.

You may like the record Robben and I did together earlier this year which is a bit more fusiony for lack of a better word. We played "Gold On My Shoulder" from Sun Room on the tour we did a few months ago.

Robben is presently killing it on the third tune.

Dumble fans will dig his tone, more aggressive than recent work. Tunes so far are fusion-like, what my buddy calls riff tunes like Mike Stern's upbeat ones.

Bass player and drummer are badasses.
