    [FONT=Verdana, Arial]Hey,

    Haven't seen any info here on these. Figured some might be interested.

    Don Mare (ex Lace Sensor) is doing rewinds of tele pickups that are supposedly 100% accurate repros of the ones on Roy Buchanan's 53 tele, "Nancy".

    I don't know about that, but I do know they sound killer! Here's some info:

    http://www.buckcannon.com/pages/1/index.htm

    One of my students was curious about the pickups and who Roy Buchanan was, so I gave him a short little wanky demo. Since I record all my lessons, this is it. Not great fidelity......just into my iMac internal crappy mic. Amp was about 10ft away, on the ground.

    Deluxe Reverb....Volume, Bass and Treble on 10, verb on 4, but I attenuated a bit it with a Weber MiniMass, so my neighbors don't lynch me! Mass takes a little bit of the high-end and harmonics out, but you get the idea.

    FYI, while personally I REALLY dig the neck pickup, I know most of you are curious about the bridge. I don't hit it until @ 30 seconds in.....

    PS...I ain't Roy...I don't want to be Roy....I don't want to even SOUND like Roy.....I just think these are cool pickups!

    Hey,
    Here's another clip of this pickups, by Andy T.....maybe more "Roy" representative than mine??

    Either way, between all of them, you should get a picture.

    I'm really digging these so far......first non-Fralin tele p'ups I:ve liked in a while!

    Thanks for the link. I've been a Roy fan for 30 or more years. I didn't listen because we all sound different but I did email them about cost, etc.

    Much appreciated!

    The distortion recording is a bit distant to evaluate but the tone has.......potential for goodness.

    The clean sounds like a keeper but may be lacking in that bottomy clunky attack some Tele's seem to have in bluesy/country mode. (based on the clip on my system, etc. YMMV as always)

    Ok,

    I'm considering these, I need to play what I have for a few days before I buy though. He wants $55 per pup, not unreasonable.

    I did listen and thanks for the clips.
