...got its first finish coat yesterday!

It's a Unicorn Artisan with a Valvebucker pickup.

I told Juha I wanted the sunburst to be just like the one on my beautiful '58 ES-175D.

If we're lucky it will arrive by the end of this month.

Sweet baby deity of choice that's a good way to being one for the ages, from the ages that never were but probably should've been.

That ES-175 looks stunning. Big fan of Ruo guitars and should be a stunner.

Is that a semi-hollow body? I’m interested to hear the valvebucker on that body type...if you would be so kind as to make another one of your videos of course! So far I think all the videos out there are on solid bodies, if I’m not mistaken

YES!!! Love that offset swooping grain pattern. This is going to be a beauty!

I don't have many guitars on my lust list, but a Mojo King w/ Valvebucker is one of them.

Thanks, y'all! The nice thing about Juha's guitar builder app is that it shows the actual top blanks that are available. When I decided to go with the vintage tobacco burst as on the 175, I knew that top would be perfect. Even more so when I changed from hum-doggy pickups to the Valvebucker. Funny, Juha had just released that top; he'd originally put it in his personal stash because he planned to use it for his own guitar at some point.

Speaking of the 'burst, notice how Juha (or whichever of his crew is on this build) sprayed it. In the larger photo of the 175 that I sent him as a point of reference, you can see how the dark part is somewhat translucent up by the pickup selector. Juha said he'd mimic that with the new guitar. He even wrote instructions on the neck that are legible in the photo above.

Yes, both Juha and I are very curious to hear how this one comes out with the Valvebucker and the semi-hollow body. I'll try to get something done with it to share, if not a proper video (haven't done one of those in ages) maybe a remix of one of the tunes on my finished-and-due-out-in-January record with the new guitar in place of the guitar(s) on the original track.

I’m playing my Mojo King right now. Good gravy, the things this guitar inspires me to play!

I've just started writing/recording a new tune with mine. If I could only afford that VSOP Juha and I've been discussing.

    Cheers,

Yes, but the wiring is Kimockian. (Which IIRC he got from Jerry G) Look closely at the labels on the knobs...

Hey now, that is interesting! I’m assuming Neck has its own and Mid/Bridge are controlled by the other? Could be very interesting if the wiring allowed N+B switching as well.

Nope. First vol (near strings) is N&B. Pickup selector is 3-way, like a Tele switch. Middle pickup is brought in independently with the second vol. Tone is a master for everything. So all of the pickups and combinations are available but there’s more knob twisting involved. Which is fine with me cos I cut my teeth on four-knob Gibson-recipe electronics.

Now that is a great set up! Really like that flexibility. I have a Knaggs Severn with 7 way wiring, but only one Vol. I really like how you have it instead because like you, I really enjoy that ability to mix by volume as we can with the 4 knob recipe.
