Have been mixing some drivers around here for a while and stumbled across a new mix that really works great.

    The Scumback M-75 & H-55 mix (both 65watters) just kills in a 2x12.

To my ears it has just the right amount of mids and top end but this mix really gives the low end and lower mids a kick in a 2x12. Really brings the smaller cabs into quadbox territory.

Keeps it all together nicely tho, no mush here at all, i`ve been giving this mix a run through the AxeFx so it`s been beaten to death by all manner of amps. Well at least all manner of amp sims:D handles them all equally as well.

Just wanted to share, give this mix a run and see what you think.

Here`s what i`ve got these loaded into at the moment.

    cheers

Wow, thats one of the nicest 2x12 cabs I've ever seen. I love the dark wood with the beige grill. :drool

I'd love to hear these Scumback speakers but being in the UK makes it pretty hard to try anything!!!

    I hear you mate ,

Wish we had more gear down our way too,
but these speakers are probably one of the best tone upgrades you can make IMO.

Funny you should mention that M75-H55 mix. I have an old Marshall 4x12 that I just stocked with that mix and I absolutely love it! I had a chance to go down to tonemerchants in Orange and try out an M55 4x12, M75 4x12, Scumnico 4x12, and H75 4x12 with my amp. After trying all of em' I came to the M75-H55 conclusion for my own 4x12. I loved the girth & low end grunt of the H55's but also adored the mid-range of the M75's. I do think these two speakers compliment each other very well. I'm having some great results with my Concorde running though the 4x12. I totally agree that it's one of the best tone upgrades you can make.

    Hi Brad,
I'll have to add that that cab sounded fantastic at Ampfest this year. Nice combination with the Scumback mix.

    Nice to meet you too.

    Gary.

Jim mentioned you were really digging this mix into your Komet too.

I bet that Concorde when would up through your quad sounds like nothing else,

Still kicking myself for letting mine go, thats excellent that you ere able to try out all the different mixes side by side and come up with one that works well there:dude

I know Big Mike has his patent on the M-75 H-75 mix, so i dont wanna tread on his toes :D

Thats excellent, hopefully you`ll really dig this mix as much as i do, will be really interested in hearing your thoughts.

    Man that's a nice cab!!

I've got a similar mix in my 2x12 but not Scumbacks, Heritage and 70th Ann G12H-30s and I love it. The Heritage is darker with more low end, the 70th Ann. a bit brighter, together they sound awesome. Am hoping to upgrade the 70th Ann speaker with an ASW recone sometime soon...

Have not tried Scumbacks yet but have one on the way right now, a 100w H75 for a 1x12 cab I can run with my 35w and 50w heads for a "high wattage grab n go" rig....looking forward to hearing how good it sounds!!!

H55 is a great speaker. Paired with a V30 sounds amazing as well.
