I just picked this up yesterday and am mighty impressed. It’s about the size of a Princeton but the sound is huge. Definitely could use for club dates. Records great too. Just a bit of jamming here. Settings listed in video.

Due to the overwhelming response to this thread :) I also did a little video using a strat.

Really is a fantastic amp. I loved the 50 and 30 but this is probably my favorite because of the compact size, amazing tone, plenty of volume, and I love the 6v6 output tubes.

Sweet! How much of that tone is due to the pickups?

Hmm, well the Lollar’s are great for sure. Seems the sc20 like any great amp works well with the characteristics of whatever guitar you throw at it. The dynamics and tone of my vintage 66 strat, for instance, were similar to the Nash W Lollars, although there’s a sweetness to the Lollars that I love.

Nice... Fan of the clean headroom of the SC30 (which still breaks up at about noon full up on volume pot).

So, Emerson, does the SC20 have enuff clean headroom for some small gigs with a "reasonable" drummer? Say, along the lines of a DR, or even a PR with a 12.
And, does yers have the Sound City labelled Ceramic mag speaker? I guess it's maybe an Emi(?) @Third Stone

Yes definitely holds together more than my Princeton and the bottom end doesn’t fart out. I’d say similar to a deluxe but I don’t have one to do a direct comparison. I think Steven Frette developed the speaker with the guys from Eminence and had a lot of input from the great Pete Anderson. It’s an efficient speaker and very well matched to this amp.

Thank you sir, for that info.
Sounds like this amp goes higher on the list for my purposes
Pete has been one of my favs since he hit the scene in the 80s.
    Dig his style/flair.

Very cool demo, there's something really sweet going on with that amp! Is that sizzle very piercing in person?

I just recorded one of my bands tracks through an old 66 Sound City Concord. Most people rag on that amp... very unique though.

Definitely not piercing. Super sweet top end in person. The speaker is really well matched for the amp. Amp is super touch responsive, I’m loving it.

FANTASTIC PLAYING and really pure, unadulterated tone from the guitar and amp... GREAT STUFF!
This type of vibe is the only thing I miss with my Fractal AX8; it's simply the perfect gigging, home practicing, recording machine with a gazillion tones and FX imaginable, but man I do miss me some solo guitar sitting right into front of an amp sometimes.
