do you need to put a tranformer in it as well?

say I want to put a Jensen MOD 6-15 in there (which is a 4 ohm speaker) and the original speaker in there runs at 8 ohms....can I just drop the Jensen in there, no worries?

    I don't think so.

I wired my DA5 with a speaker out jack, and from the research I did it would be safe to run the amp with 8 or 16 ohms, but NOT with 4 ohms.

hmmmm...thanks for the response- very cool on the speaker out, (you wouldn't happen to have instructions for that would you?)- I've read that others have put the Jensen in there with no problem (with and without a tranny)

anyone have a (better) speaker replacement suggestion that runs at 8?

i read somewhere about putting some kind of inductor in there to make it so u can use the 4 ohm speaker, but i dont know much else.

i hope someone else can chime in on this.

do u think the jensen will sound good in the da5?

Very simple. Just buy a 1/4" switching jack, cut the speaker leads, drill a hole in the back panel for the jack, and wire the jack between the amp & speaker. When nothing's plugged in, you've got the internal speaker, plug in an 8 or 16ohm cab, it switches to the extension speaker.

    very cool, ruger9- thanks!

shibby, I think you got it...I think it was an inductor- like you, I want more info-

I've read that the people that put the Jensen in there like the amp much better...much better cleans and not-so-fizzy distortion

    up for more info
