New Tele or round out the collection?

So the new PRS SE Custom 24 2012 came out and I was really impressed when I tried it out.

I currently have a Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster '50s Butterscotch Blonde. Before I tried the PRS I was considering getting a Fender American Special Telecaster probably in 3-Color Sunburst. Should I take a a chance and get a different guitar?

I have a Gibson Les Paul Special Faded as well. It had me thinking that having a Fender, Gibson, and PRS would be a good collection of guitars. Instead of having just 2 Telecasters.

Do any of you consider what you already have when buying a new guitar?

my biased opinion is that you should get a higher quality tele

but im a tele man that dislikes PRS :)

nobody can really answer that for you. go play the am special, the current production are very well made. definitely an upgrade in my personal opinion, but the cv squires are nothing to scoff at, and if that's enough tele for you, get the PRS.

If you've been happy with your CV Tele, it makes sense to widen your sonic options with some other type of guitar... and the import PRS's are very nice at that price point.

I've got 4 of the SE PRS guitars and they find their way into gigging rotation along with the US made PRS I own.

Unless you're just a "tele guy"... and there's nothing wrong with that, it seems more fun to have other choices.
