Yes the dark theme is heaven to me and reading on my ipad in dimmer lighting conditions, no more bright white lighting up the whole bedroom at night or eye strain.

From the comments, appears this new format is well suited for a phone.

I like it except I would like the option to delete the little profile pic at the left to speed up loading and fit more posts on the screen.

The ignore thread option is gone. That was very useful.

And people starting new threads just to complain about the new format. I don't get what all the consternation is. My gripes are minor, and I'm getting along with how it behaves on IOS devices.

The apps won't work any longer. Forum Runner, Tapatalk. Browser works fine.

    It's probably crashing their AOL.

The new look is very sleek. I just miss the tapatalk app. It was much easier to navigate on my phone.

ah, much better anyway. hated the goofy way you had to navigate through the menus on tapatalk. had to select like 15 links to make it to effects.

    thanks for the info.

My PC took a dump so I have yet to use the new site there, but it's definately a big improvement for iPhone use. I don't have to "hover" to see how long a thread is either, the last five pages are listed, which is better than the old since it listed the first 5 and then a link to the last page.

I have my gripes with a few things, one being that my own sig, as well as everyone else's, is no longer visible in threads, but that might be something I can fix, just haven't looked into it yet. It's definately easier to read/type in threads on a phone than what it was before, so you all know, I just view the site on safari.

Use your browser, not a dedicated app.

It usually works for me, although not always. Still, an improvement over the old board.

I don't like the way it looks at all. It reminds me of an old crappy message board. Cheap/mediocre looking. However it works fine. So no issue there.

    It looks like hell.

It probably has tons of cool features that I could be using right now, though.

    So, whatevs....

At first I liked it. But over time I am realizing the old one had more going for it, IMO. And on my phone the tapatalk app was way better. Kept track of where I posted and gave me configurable alerts for subscribed threads, besides being more readable. But I am looking for another forum anyway due to the group think here.

Man! I tried Tapatalk and it ended up getting worse and worse... I ended up counting the number of clicks to do some things I regularly do, basic things like navigate to a sub forum, check the latest posts of a forum owner... To get latest news etc... Tapashite always took about double the number of clicks and I hated the way that they kept changing the UI.... Everyone was very vocal about the dislike of the interface.... They just kept going in the wrong direction.

Glad to have dumped tapatalk.... Welcome this new mobile interface.

    Rock on!

You can block them using a program/extension like Ad Block, that's what I did, works great.

So strange. My forum page displays how many replies there are in a topic.

It was like that right after the software change. Did you accidentally turn that off? I didn't know you could do that.

It's been like this since the change-over. So, this thread looks like all the others until I mouse over it and see that there are four pages to the thread.
