Behold my first (and so far only) Baker: serial number 360, completed in June 2002 as a custom order for Matte Henderson. (As an aside, I think I could live very happily buying only guitars that Matte commissioned. Dude has great taste.)

    The specs:

    *Old growth Honduras Mahogany back(1.75")
    *Old growth Honduras Mahogany neck
*Fender Custom Shop "10/56 V" profile--.91 at first fret, .98 at 12th, but very comfortable because of mild V, which is more pronounced in first four frets.
*.5" Carved 1 piece Curly Eastern Maple top
    *Hide glue used exclusively
    *Nitrocelluose lacquer
    *Old growth Brazilian rosewood fingerboard
    *Celluloid Trapezoid Inlays
    *6105 frets
    *24.625" scale length
    *Aged binding
    *Tortoise side dots
    *Holly headstock veneer
    *Matte Henderson straight-stringpull headstock
*2 Lollar P 90 (original neck Gibson Alnico P90 in case; thinking about re-installing it)
*Peter Florance Voodoo '59 bridge pickup
    *Sperzel tuners
    *Point Tremelo
*Strat control layout with V/T/T(bridge PU)

I'm a hardtail guy, but the Point tremelo is incredibly stable and "invisible" in most ordinary playing.

Fantastic guitar. I'm really impressed with these Bakers. And now some pix:

That is such a nice top. It's got such an old wood look to it. Reminds me of why I like old Gibsons.

When you get tired of it, lemme' know.

Sweet. Gene makes a player's guitar, and that top looks like a 1960 tangerine burst.

I also owned that guitar at one point, It is awesome. The top is insane and the neck p/u is the titz. Its my favorite stunt guitar in the world.

Tell me more about the Alnico neck pup. Whazzit good for? I'm mostly a blues and blues-based rock player. I recall "Bluesforstevie" playing some tasty slow blues on a Black Beauty reissue with the Alnico neck pup, but that 30-second clip is the entirety of my exposure to that kind of pickup.

You definitely have that right. Now I'm wondering why it took me so long to join. This really smokes.

Let us know when you get some more pix of your new git, #575. That looked beautiful on the Woodshed website.
