This is straight out wonderful at 5 AM. Thank you! I will be back to listen when I can crank the stereo up. I love me some TOP. Thanks for posting.
Boomer still grooves like hell!
That's putting it in the pocket
They’ve still got it! SO tight.
THAT is happy-making.
Ha, I've got it on quiet too [still early here].
Yeah, Dave Garibaldi, still funky.
Not a great song, but a great performance by some very talented players.
Tightest band in the land!
the last album was superb as well.
One of my favorite records lately is Urban Renewal.
Oh hell yeah!
Thanks for that. Had no idea these guys were still around.
Freeking love that!
Thanks for sharing OP.
Being in Northern California all my life, I’ve seen TOP a million times. Always one of the best live experiences and one of the few bands on the planet that makes me forget that I can’t dance.
I grew up in the bay area and was a hippy stoner prog rock zep lovin' teen in the 70's and I even knew as a kid that there was no badder musicians than Tower Of Power! East Bay Grease you all................
Yes, just played at our Deco movie theater downtown.
Didn't go, was gigging rt down the street [club got real busy when the theater let out though]
Sure seen em plenty since the early '70s. Y'gotta love these guys.
This is hip
and David Garibaldi is still so great.
Its almost 50 years since all the drummers I personally knew at the time (musicians who weren't even big fans of R&B/funk) went nuts over Garibaldi and were trying to get lessons with Chuck Brown who had been his drum teacher.
I think I first saw Tower Of Power when they opened for Aretha at the Fillmore West, one of those shows indelibly etched in my brain.
