New Tube Amp smell???

I just bought a new Blues Junior Tweed a few days ago and I plugged it in for the first time today and after about 5 minutes of playing I noticed a slight burning smokey smell with little bit of haze that only lasted a few minutes. The amp still sounded great and there was no crackling or anything like that. Is it normal for a new tube amp to do this the first time you plug it in and play?

Thanks

Probably just the ink on the outside of the tubes getting hot for the first time. BTW, I tried that amp last weekend. I'm not a Fender guy, but that thing is a great grab-&-go amp. I don't like the black tolex one, but the tweed one is great.

Thanks man. Yeh the tweed one sounds and looks awesome. Hopefully that smell is nothing to worry about.

Correct, just the new tubes burning in.

The tweed and tolex JRs are the same circuit, just a different speaker...

If it gets stronger. Or if you see smoke, turn it off and unplug it. Then see a tech.
